Oh is it called Middle College? My little brother is doing that right now!
I don’t know of any general anthropology books at the top of my head, but maybe my followers will….
A great Anatomy book I have is a Kaplan Medical Anatomy Coloring book. You can buy them online for about $15. I like the Kaplan kind because it comes with pre-made flashcards. If you also wander into a bookstore, you can find them in the science aisles.
If you’re into medical anthropology, books I would recommend are
- “Other Wordly: Making Chinese Medicine through Transnational Frames” by Mei Zhan. The book looks over the interactions of Traditional Chinese medicine in both Shanghai and San Fransisco.
- “Flexible Bodies” by Emily Martin. I really adore Martin. The book describes how the immune system and our bodies are personified in American Culture.
- “Fluent Bodies” by Jean M. Langford. This book talks about Ayurveda medicine in India.
Other books I like…
- “The Old Ways: A Story of the First People” by Elizabeth Marshall Thomas. This book is one of my favorites! It examines the San people of the Kalahari Desert as an insight on how early humans lived.
- “The Indians: Portrait of a People” by Sudhir Kakar and Katharina Kakar. I’m currently reading this, and I really love it.
I left a lot of my books at my parents house, and this was all I could think of at the top of my head :)
